Held in Bari from 3 to 11 October, the 84th edition of the International General Exhibition “Fiera del Levante” celebrated the European Cooperation Day and 30 years of European Territorial Cooperation (Interreg). It was the place of choice to share successful stories of cooperation in the Mediterranean area.
On Friday 9 October (h. 9.30am - 1:30pm) the International Policy Coordination Department of the Puglia region organized a conference on “Cooperation for Tourism and Culture in the Mediterranean area: state of the art and future perspectives”, in collaboration with ENI CBC MED, Interreg V-A Greece-Italy and Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro Programmes.
The event was created to share the good practices developed through local development initiatives in the cultural and touristic sector, thanks to the synergic integration of strategic plans, Regional Operational Programmes and European Territorial Cooperation.
CIRCE was presented by Ileana Inglese, JS Communication Manager of Interreg Italy-Albania-Montenegro Programme, Simonetta Dellomonaco, President of Apulia Film Commission Foundation, as an example of successful European cooperation and a major development support opportunity for the region’s audiovisual sector.
In the afternoon of the same day, the review of short movies "The Journey and the Memory", organized by the Joint Secretariat of Italy-Albania-Montenegro and Greece-Italy Programmes, took place at the premises of Apulia Film Commission, always in Bari. During the initiative, CIRCE web series episodes, realized by 9 young directors coming from Albania, Montenegro, Molise and Puglia, were projected together with the 10 short movies realized by Apulia Film Commission in the frame of CIAK project, funded by Interreg V-A Greece-Italy 2014/2020.
